Key Responsibilities
- To provide adequate advice about and to develop port master plans, taking into account all relevant planning parameters, in close cooperation with the (potential) end users or other types of clients, in terms of commercial, nautical, operational, environmental and technical requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain ongoing business relationships with key clients and customers as well as other main players in the business.
- Identify potential maritime opportunities and assist in the development of proposals.
- When assigned as manager of designated projects or studies, you will plan, program and manage the resources applied such that agreed project objectives of quality, timeliness and profitability will be achieved.
- Prepare, submit and present papers at industry conferences and publishing in relevant trade journals and magazines from time to time.
- Assist the BD Manager Port and Marine Infrastructure with delivering growth, diversification and stability targets.
- Be a linking pin with our Planning Group in the US and FEED office in Dubai.
- Be involved in the development of expertise in our overall Ports capabilities.
Skills and Experiences
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent (transport) economics degree.
- Demonstrable experience in the port and maritime sector, with proven international expertise in port masterplanning, planning and design of port layouts, port operations and the planning and design of related marine structures.
- Previous experience in an international consulting or contracting environment as consulting engineer.
- Knowledge of and experience with port master planning, including shipping, port and terminal operations.
- Exposure to or knowledge of dredging and geotechnical aspects of maritime projects.
- Self-starter commercial and technical acumen.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- The ability to lead a team of both internal and external consulting engineers.
