Minimum Requirements:
•BS in Civil Engineering or Planning
•Registration and designation as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain one within one year of hire
•Basic knowledge of CADD and design software, such as MicroStation, Geopak, AutoCAD, or Civil 3d
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey thoughts clearly and concisely
•Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs
•Must have a valid driver's license
•Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description:
The Infrastructure and Environment Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineer or Transportation Planner for immediate employment in the Transportation Planning Section in the Hunt Valley, Maryland, office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established education in Surface Transportation, specific to roadway, transit or freight planning or design. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to supporting a wide range of planning and preliminary engineering studies for roadways, transit systems, freight, toll roads, bicycle and pedestrian facilities for local, state, and federal clients in Maryland and the mid-Atlantic region.
• Candidate will be performing entry level engineering tasks. Duties will include developing alignment studies, impact studies, feasibility studies, preliminary roadway design, traffic analysis, plan preparation, cost estimates, and coordination with other staff.
• Candidate is expected to grow in this position, working towards PE registration and eventual client management and/or technical leadership responsibilities.
• This position is for a transportation engineer or planner who will be part of a team that includes other engineers, environmental scientists, landscape architects, and other support staff.
