Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree and 2 yrs experience.
• 2 years of directly related work experience required. Additional years of experience can be substituted for degree
• Technical certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, MCP, VCP5, or VCAP5 are a plus
• Understanding of Active Directory and underlying concepts, including GPOs, DNS, FRS, LDAP, Kerberos, sites, forests, trees, domains, trusts, security and resource principals, FSMO roles, etc.. required
• Understanding of Microsoft Server operating system, services, and concepts required
• Strong VMware experience with ESX support and administration
• Basic Knowledge with VMware is required
• Building ESX hosts and understanding of VSphere
• Experience working with and administering a large Windows 2003/2008 infrastructure required
• Experience with various Microsoft Server products, including Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2010, SQL 2008, SCCM, etc...
• Experience building servers from scratch or image using common imaging tools
• Experience with 3rd party management tools and backup software such as NetBackup, NetIQ AppManager, and HP Insight Manager is a plus
• Experience with the ITSM helpdesk ticketing system or other enterprise-level ticket management system a plus
• The ability to work closely with external entities to upgrade/modify server infrastructure, add new requirements and troubleshoot server related issues.
• Clustering and SAN experience a plus.
• Requires high level of initiative with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a "can do" attitude and the ability to work independently with some guidance from supervisor.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and keep management apprised of progress or issues

Responsibilities:
• Mid-level Windows Server Administrator supporting a Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting the overall server architecture in a 5,000 user, multi-site environment.
• Duties include supporting and monitoring the environment on a daily basis, day-to-day server operations, troubleshooting problems, and working assigned infrastructure projects.
• The administrator maintains responsibility over all Windows servers and the Active Directory domain, including the associated accounts and permissions.
• The administrator must have the ability to work closely with external entities to upgrade/modify server infrastructure, add new requirements and troubleshoot server related issues.
• Will create, maintain and evaluate documentation, i.e. backup procedures, software and hardware lists, proper naming convention, proper IP address.
• The administrator will perform preventive maintenance; monitors and optimizes performance of servers, collects, analyzes, and prepares usage and performance statistics.
• Will also monitor system performance, troubleshoots hardware and software problems, installs and maintains system, application, and communications hardware and software. Clustering and SAN experience a plus.
• The position is in Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC. A rotating evening shift (noon to 9pm) and occasional on-call support are a requirement.
