Role Overview :
This position will be responsible for effective oversight and execution of all BBS Finance field activities for the West Nile Delta Gas project in Alexandria, Egypt. This BBS Finance position will receive day-to-day direction from the site's Commercial Manager, Business Manager and/or Project Manager and functional guidance from the Project Accounting Manager in London. This position is located in Alexandria, Egypt.
Duties will include having a full understanding of the financial requirements of the client contract and taking a lead role in setting up the accounting procedures and work processes necessary to support the projects onshore activities as well as implementation of appropriate administrative controls to ensure compliance with internal (Bechtel) and external & local statutory requirements. Candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations which may include accounts payable, general ledger reporting, tax reporting, audit coordination and other duties which may be required.

Candidate will implement and maintain appropriate work processes to ensure compliance with all required client and/or country specific statutory regulations to provide early identification of any financial issues which may impact project profitability. Candidate will foster teamwork and effective working relationships within the Finance team in addition to the other functional areas of the organization both internally and externally. Provide ongoing communication to functional management and GBU/Project management in connection with status of financial activities and take the lead in coordinating/handling necessary due diligence to promptly identify financial issues which may impact project profitability and resolve or recommend alternatives for resolution.
Basic Qualifications :

At least 10 years of experience in a related role on medium to large construction projects with similar complexity

Preferred Qualifications :

Ability to analyze financial data, provide early recognition of potential problems and provide effective and innovative resolution in handling complex financial issues/problems
Strong knowledge of accounting and financial issues including understanding of Bechtel finance practices and techniques
Understanding of complexities associated with international projects
Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively function in a matrix organization and manage complex high volume activities. Must be able to function effectively within a multicultural team environment
Intermediate skills in the areas of oral and written communications (English/Portuguese), project financial process controls, MS Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel), accounts payable, general ledger and billing
