Minimum Requirements: Basic Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Mechanical Engineering or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university. 2. 6 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer. 3. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: 1. Project Management and Safety Training will be a plus. 2. A Professional Engineering License in the State of Georgia is a plus. 3. Experience in a manufacturing industrial setting is a plus. 4. Experience designing HVAC systems/ chillers/ heat exchangers. 5. Experience working with Siemens Apogee. 6. Experience with domestic water piping, and pipe stress analysis. 7. Experience with air compressors set up/ design. 8. Micro Station or similar Computer Aided Design experience. 9. Excellent computing skills with MS Office, MC Project and MAXIMO.
This position may require a valid Driver's License. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. All Positions with URS will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location. All Positions with URS may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements: • Have the ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. • Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during an 8-hour shift. • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop and squat on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to regularly kneel on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a shift. • Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements: • Must be able to submit to and pass a background check. • Must be able to cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Responsibilities for this position will include but are limited to: Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to insure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
