Minimum Requirements: REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent, 3 years' experience as an operator in an industrial plant environment and some supervisory or leadership experience
Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a US or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain PCAPP site access • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment • Experience operating forklift/forktruck • Able to solve complex problems and understand impact of decisions upon operaiton of facility • Knowledge and understanding of technical documents, including specifications, drawings, test plans, standard operating procedures, and system demonstration procedures. • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects. Able to adapt to changes as they occur. • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate past supervisory/lead experience in a chemical, petrochemical, power plant or equivalent operation, and the ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives, reach consensus on complex issues in a timely manner, and manage others in performing complex, interrelated tasks in an efficient, effective and timely manner
Desired Qualifications: • Technical or trade school in related area • Certified senior level operator at chemical demilitarization facility • Supervisory experience • Experience working in a toxic/hazardous materials environment • Experience in Work Management/Control • Experience in implementation and supervision of Conduct of Operations program
SURETY
• This position is designated as a chemical duty position and is subject to the requirements of the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by Army Regulation 50-6. • Require routine access to chemical surety materials. • Are authorized to escort visitors to areas containing chemical surety materials. • Control direct access to chemical surety material. • Are operators of equipment that disassembles chemical munitions/containers or handle chemical surety materials during demilitarization operations. Job Description: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS
• Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. • May be required to work overtime or varying hours. • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. • Responsible for supervision of personnel operating the plant systems in support of demilitarization operations on the assigned shift. • Make work assignments, monitor work, performance and perform other administrative duties as necessary to ensure safe and compliant operation of the facility. • Follow specific direction of Area Supervisor or Control Room Supervisor. • Communicate with the Control Room in case of problems or malfunctions. • Interface with necessary organizations to coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities. • Ensure that high levels of housekeeping are maintained in the plant. • May serve in absence of Area Supervisor if necessary. • Ensure that Conduct of Operations (CONOPS) are reinforced and adhered to in all activities being performed. • Make exclusion area entries as necessary to perform duties as assigned. • Assist in certification process by active training (OJT) to promote certification. • Sign certification cards and sit in review boards as a technical expert. • Maintain certifications in all required plant systems and be available to act in Plant Operator capacity when required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assign, supervise and direct work activities of assigned personnel. • Responsible for performance evaluations of assigned personnel. • Responsible for training and development of assigned personnel. • Counsel assigned personnel on company policies, procedures, performance and personnel issues. • Initiate and justify personnel actions and recommend salary adjustments. • Other: Assess and monitor employee fitness-for-duty in the CPRP. Interpret policy and recommend personnel hiring/discipline/discharge. Review work of assigned personnel for compliance with policies and procedures, effectiveness of coordination, technical accuracy, safety, surety, and for attainment of objectives.
