Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience, and minimum of 3 years of related experience. Excellent communications and analytical skills; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Position may require travel.
Minimum/General Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Windows technical experience in system administration of networks and software systems. Experience should include system backup/recovery,
basic software management, security management and library management, installation and configuration of hardware, operation systems and COTS software, operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software/network trouble shooting and resource allocation. Should have experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP. Maintaining proficiency on major network security tools such as: firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attach methods and latest detection methods. In addition, performs system specification and market research procurement tasks. Customer service experience with RDT&E workstations. Experience shall include telephone and on-site technical support to employees regarding technical aspects of assigned RDT&E products. Knowledge of RDT&E hardware and/or software products required.
As per DoD Directive 8570, this position shall require IAT Level 2 or higher.
Job Description:
URS is seeking an Information System Support Specialist to bring new systems online and install a baseline package of software (to include - but not limited to - MS Office, Hercules client, anti-virus package, CAD deployments, image editing software, and other common software packages)
• Locate and install software patches
• Create, submit, and track all accreditation paperwork
• Create, submit, and track all port assignment requests
• Install OS and software patches and updates (monthly or more frequently) in compliance with Retina reports and other guidance from CXA
• Locate and install anti-virus updates (for non-networked systems)
• Review system audit trails for security compliance
• Perform/assist in hardware upgrades and repairs
• Respond to data calls regarding computer system information and/or compliance from management and/or CXA10
• Prepare old systems for disposal
• Maintain/upgrade the data backup system for all storage systems, including both onsite and offsite storage and media rotation
• Perform system restore from backups
• Update license files on servers as appropriate
• Oversee spares (printer supplies, computer parts) and process orders to maintain
• Design the layout for, install, and repair all networking equipment
• Conduct host-based vulnerability assessments
