Job Description:  The Capture Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing AECOM's large project/design-build initiatives.  This includes lead and opportunity development, identifying resources required to pursue the bid, establishing processes and plans necessary for pursuit, and managing their execution. The ideal candidate will develop teaming and joint venture agreements, Joint Venture board member, direct project proposal and pursuits, lead estimating approach & process, oversight and support of Project Managers, monitor and improve project methods and operations, review and approve project budget, cost control and communication systems.

This position involves considerable interaction with both internal and external resources, consultants, subject experts, and client teams. In performing this role, the manager must possess industry knowledge, marketing and sales capabilities, technical insight, proposal experience, program management skills and strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:

  • Drives the opportunity from capture to contract award;
  • Directs the preparation, approval, and execution of the capture plan, the capture schedule and the budget associated with the new business target;
  • Leads, motivates and energizes internal and external team members to produce a winning solution;
  • Ensures appropriate resources are assigned to address all client requirements;
  • Develops and presents capture management reports and briefings;
  • Identifies capture team and assigns capture responsibilities.
Experience/Skills Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science, with specialization in engineering and proven record of winning Deign Build Contracts over $300+ million;
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate AECOM leadership competencies;
  • Ensures unflinching customer focus - passionate about solving clients' problems and exploring new opportunities with them, supports market-focused solutions;
  • Strategic thinker - demonstrates thorough understanding of AECOM's market position, opportunities, capabilities and competitive threats, stays informed of local, national and international trends that could impact the operation, skillfully navigates rapidly changing business climates;
  • Leverages networks - knows how to get things done in a complex, multilevel organization, effectively balances geography/local capabilities and resources, acts in the best interest of AECOM, drives continuous improvement in all process and capacity enhancements;
  • Communicates with impact - builds networks to exchange ideas and build support, uses a full range of available communication mediums to engage others, demonstrates empathy, understanding and active listening skills, elicits feedback and encourages others to speak up;
  • Business Acumen - integrates world-class business practices across function and organization, demonstrates cross-cultural business savvy.
