Minimum Requirements:
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent
2. 2 years experience as a HVAC Technician in a large office or industrial setting.
3. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in the operations and maintenance at a complex research, commercial or industrial work environment
2. Experience with Siemens Apogee or equivalent system
3. Maryland Building Engineers License
4. Security clearance (Secret, Top secret, ect)
5. Knowledge of Raised Floor AC systems
6. Knowledge of chiller operations (centrifugal)
7. Experience working on and troubleshooting VAV's
8. Experience working with voltages up to 480v.
9. EPA Universal Certification required
Must be a US Citizen
Must have a valid driver's license

All Positions with URS may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements
• Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
• Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift.
• Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis during shift.
• Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis during shift.
• Have the ability to walk extensively through out the plant during shift.
• Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Special Requirements:
• Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Job Description:
URS has a 2nd shift HVAC Technician II position available in Gaithersburg, MD!
This position assists the Lead HVAC Technician in responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all hot and cold calls while utilizing Automated Building Controls training. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required. This position will generally work with 24/7 shift coverage and weekend rotation.
The typical work schedule for this 2nd shift position consists of working five 8-hour days, then working two 12-hour days, then working two 8-hour days, then taking 5 days off. This schedule could be subject to change to meet the demand of the business.
