Job Description:  SUMMARY:
As a Prepared Foods Catering Associate Team Leader, you will be responsible for daily operations of the Catering Sales and Event Services departments, including financial control, maintenance of back room, office and floor, and assisting the Team Leader in training and supporting Team Members.
DUTIES:
- Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.
- Conduct weekly sales meetings to communicate client needs to production and event services departments
- Drive catering sales goals by achieving or exceeding set goals and making and developing client relationships
- Assist in quarterly menu developing
- Attend business specific networking meetings
- Build client base and generate sales through cold calling and building client relationships
- Assist clients in planning the full cycle of an event from menu development to invoicing.
- Maintain all phone & communication systems, ensuring prompt return calls
- Maintain all catering orders, ensuring timely, efficient and accurate completion of orders through excellent communication skills.
- Responsible for effective scheduling and ensuring labor budgets are adhered to
- Maintain high productivity levels in both Sales and Event Services departments
- Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, margins, and labor, and achieving targets
- Assist in the hiring, development, leading, counseling, and termination of Team Members
- Monitor inventory levels, and participate in monthly inventory process.
- Help implement and support all Culinary Center, global and regional programs
- Participate in any on or off premise events as directed by the Team Leader
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Minimum four years in catering sales and event planning with a proven track record of managing events up to 2000 guests and increase of sales for the team.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Analytical ability and proficiency in math needed to calculate margins, monitor profitability, and manage inventory. Billing and invoicing skills.
- Knowledge of excel, word and catering software.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Able to communicate comfortably and effectively in front of large groups of people.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, and leadership skills.
- Strong work ethic and integrity.
- Proper handling of knives and other cutting equipment.
- Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
