  • Engineering, construction, and logistics services in support of defense and homeland security
  • Providing engineering and construction management expertise to help combat bioterrorism and support the demilitarization of biological weapons facilities in U.S. ally countries
  • Environmental cleanup, decommissioning, and restoration at former nuclear weapon production sites
Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.

Role Overview
Receives supervision from the CGD Manager. Supports procurement department , engineering/projects department in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgment. Directs the work of assigned personnel, meeting safety, quality, cost and schedules. Maintains contact with other departments including Quality Assurance, design engineering & Procurement.
  • Originate CGD plans for simple and complex items and services
  • Actively engage suppliers on commercial grade dedication issues
  • Review supplier commercial grade dedication programs and plans
  • Lead and or participate in all phases (planning, checklist preparation, lines-of-inquiry, report writing) of commercial grade surveys of suppliers
  • Participate in NQA-1 Audits
  • Originate discipline deliverables and documents
  • Participate in technical meeting with DOE, suppliers, and other project staff
  • Create and issue CDMR/SMRs in BPS
  • Perform formal review of CGD documentation
  • Be able to interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines and codes for project deliverables
  • Schedule and monitors work plans consistent with contract requirements
  • Lead technical discussions with DOE, suppliers, and project staff
  • Initiate and optimizes cost effective procurements strategies
  • Review "lessons learned" data base for suitable application to tasks
  • Participate in technical review meetings for conflict resolution at suppliers
  • Perform discipline activities on projects
  • Produces complex technical documentation
  • Participates with supplier organizations in selection and Bechtel review of manufacturing and examination methods.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an Engineering fieldand6 years of progressive experience including but not limited to engineering and/or manufacturing experience. Or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of progressive experience including but not limited to engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Must have considerable experience in the following areas: commercial grade dedication, engineering principles, manufacturing processes, quality assurance.
Salary and grade commensurate with education and experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturingtechnology and methods.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in standard office automation software, primarily work processing and spreadsheet tools
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check.
  • Practical work experience in engineering, procurement engineering, and/or manufacturing necessary to perform the responsibilities above.
  • Have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. Professional Engineering license no later than 31 December 2014.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Electrical, I&C, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Nuclear commercial grade dedication experience
  • Experience with commodities typically procured for nuclear projects, recognized Codes and Standards, engineering/manufacturing methods, inspection/examination/testing techniques, or technical document review and implementation.
  • Knowledge of quality management programs including ISO9000, ANSI N45.2, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR 830, and NQA-1.
  • Ability to apply nuclear industry standards and regulations on general procurement activities.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
