Job Description:  CH2M HILL Construction Manager Careers - Denver, Colorado
The challenge? Successfully deliver constructive solutions for CH2M Hill's Transportation Division. Our Construction Manager job provides you with an opportunity to deliver transportation infrastructure projects throughout the United States, with a particular emphasis in Texas. Duties will include serving as the Construction Manager for individual Transportation projects as well as growing the overall Design-Build (D-B) practice. Each day, you will provide the leadership necessary for achieving project objectives through careful planning, estimating, staffing, scheduling, and budget management while adhering with the industry's highest standards for quality and safety.

Provides primary leadership and supervision of construction operations on Design-Build transportation business group staff, working with the Project Management, regional's Operations Management, Geographic Manager (GM ), and Business Development Leader (BDL) personnel, and Geographic Operations Manager (GOM). Provides the cross-functional business development, technology construction expertise, staffing assistance, and project delivery performance within our targeted geographies , including Target Zero HSE excellence. Within the geography, assist in the responsibility and accountability for new D/B business, project delivery and staffing.

Project responsibilities will include:
Overall project leadership provided by the Project Manager, the Construction Manager is a key member of the design-build project Core Leadership Team. As such, you will constructively interact with other members of this team that includes the Design Manager, Project Engineer, Project Schedule Manager, DB Coordinator, Quality Managers and Safety Manager. You will have primary responsibility for the safety of production personnel, conduct or assist with pre-construction conferences and pre-activity meetings, supervise and direct field staff, provide overall field equipment and resource management, conduct site meetings focused on work progress, schedule, coordination, risk exposure and conflict resolution discussions. You will work closely with your client (owner agency) counterpart as well as construction quality control professionals to ensure contract compliance with regard to material and workmanship issues and including the resolution of issues arising from field construction operations.

Key Leadership Duties:
As CH2M HILL's #1 priority, ensures that benchmark safety and security standards are always met specific to construction field operations.
Is responsible for meeting construction budget and schedule objectives including the responsibility for the development of short and long term schedule, phasing and sequencing strategies. Responsible for developing construction field supervision /craft worker staff. Is seen by the overall project team as representing the 'Build' expertise in Design-Build project delivery. Works with the Project Manager and Geographic regional Operations Manager to ensure that construction staff has the appropriate advocacy, mentoring, development planning and project opportunities to reach their career objectives. Participates in the Performance Enhancement Process (PEP) and total compensation process for direct reports. You should be a self-motivated professional with a proven and successful 20 year track record working as a Construction Manager or position of similar responsibility on large (>$100M) transportation infrastructure projects.
Strong consideration will be given to candidates with Design-Build project experience.

Candidate must possess computer skills to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel and must know how to access the internet and use e-mails. The position requires the ability to read and understand construction schedules and the use of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or more current version. Certification as Construction Manager (CCM) preferred as well as working knowledge of contracts and the interpretation of contract language. A candidate with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills will be the perfect fit. You should have the ability to work independently as well as a functioning member of a team and have a desire to grow personally and professionally with each construction management assignment.This role requires a willingness to relocate to projects thorughout the USA.

Basic Qualifications

20 years experience as a Construction Manager or position of similar responsibility in the construction industry with an emphasis on Design-Build Transportation project

Must be willing to relocate for projects thorughout the USA
