Minimum Requirements: High School graduate or GED.
Minimum of two years in a control room environment or two years of college education. Must be experienced in and/or knowledgeable of traffic monitoring and traffic control systems, call-taking/dispatching, and have Emergency Operations Center knowledge and/or experience. Valid Missouri Drivers License in good standing.
Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment.
Familiarity with St Louis Metro Area Interstates and local roadways.
Candidate must be computer literate; Windows-based application experience; minimum 25 WPM typing.

Day-to-day activities include:
Use Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) to monitor major portions of St Lous Metro Area Interstate highway system.
Monitor: Missouri State Police Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), various communications channels, and MODOT Radio Over Internet Protocol (ROIP).
Activate appropriate response(s) to detected and/or reported incidents; includes dispatch of Safety Service Patrol (SSP) and location assistance to first responders.
Access and control traffic management devices (video cameras, Changeable Message Signs, Reversible Roadway Gate System).
Safely operate the High Occupancy Vehicle Reversible Roadway in accordance with MODOT prescribed policies, guidelines, and requirements.
Operate the Highway Advisory Radio system.
Generate, receive, and respond to calls pertaining to various persons / organizations / agencies.
Record all appropriate Control Room activities in incident database.
Make appropriate entries in the Missouri Operational Information System (MOIS); responsible for District-wide MOIS Quality Assurance.
Responsible for timeliness, completeness and accuracy of assigned administrative requirements.
Create and submit internal Work Orders for equipment failures or malfunctions.
Provide answering service for St Louis Metro District Office during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.
When directed by the MODOT, function as a member of Emergency Response Team.
Other duties as assigned by the Control Room Shift Supervisor.
Candidate may work in emergency situations - odd shift, long hours. EOE M/F/D/V
