Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

High school or equivalent education and minimum of six years journey-level industrial maintenance experience in an operating demil, chemical, power, processing, industrial service or manufacturing plant.

OR

Completion of a formal apprenticeship or similar accredited training program (such as vocational, trade, commercial or military) in the electrical/electronics field or journeyman certification and minimum of four years journey-level industrial maintenance experience in an operating demil, chemical, power, processing, industrial service or manufacturing plant.

Minimum Qualifications:

Thorough understanding of electrical equipment operation and electrical equipment maintenance.

Must be able to use common electrical hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, strippers, knives, drill motors and test equipment.

Medium voltage (13.2Kv-480V) experience.

Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in a toxic or hazardous materials work environment.

Computer literate in common software applications

Experience communication systems, eg. telephones, LAN WAN

Journeyman Electrician license preferred.


Job Description:

Washington Demilitarization Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of URS is seeking an Electrical Technician for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, KY.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

May be required to work overtime or varying hours.

Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.

Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

Perform a variety of electrical trade functions including modifications and revisions, corrective and preventive maintenance on facility systems, equipment, and components such as generators, switchgear, transformers, programmable logic controllers, motors, HVAC units, control and power circuits.

Involved in the installation of conduit, cable trays, raceways, wiring and other associated electrical equipment in support of plant configuration changes.

Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and specifications in performing duties to ensure system integrity is maintained.

Perform Journeyman level duties in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, systems and components.

Perform emergency repairs to systems, equipment and components. Record the as-found condition as well as the repaired condition; analyzing system characteristics to determine the cause of failure.

Conduct post-maintenance testing of systems, equipment, and components as necessary to complete work packages and to ensure systems, equipment, and components are returned to operational conditions.

Provide technical support to vendors in performing electrical maintenance tasks beyond the Maintenance Department's capabilities.

Specify maintenance equipment needs to complete electrical tasks.

Fabricate electrical components consistent with engineering specifications.

Maintain accountability of property, including tools and maintenance equipment.

Understand and utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in the performance of duties.

May be required to fill in for Supervisor during incumbent's absence.

Develop technical solutions and workarounds to maintenance-related problems; minimizing cost and schedule impact. Requires communication of technical information to management, peers and subordinates so safe and environmentally sound operations are not compromised.

Proficient in CMMS for job-related applications.

Assure code and building standards are met.
