Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor degree in geology or related field • Knowledge of field data collection, data review and preparation of technical documents in environmental assessment and remediation, Phase I/II assessments, geotechnical logging or other related environmental fields • Must be proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include Microsoft Office Suite • Familiarity with GIS AutoCAD and/or Illustrator • Requires completing training for Hazwoper OSHA 40 hour certification and enrollment in the medical monitoring program with initial and annual physicals, and initial and random drug screens • Must be able to strictly follow and adhere to Health and Safety protocols • Analytical and interpersonal skills, and solid planning and organizational skills • Must be able to work in a team environment, using time management & multi-tasking skills • Must be able to represent URS well in front of clients and other outside personnel • Field work will be required. Requires a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions • Requires the ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects up to 50 lbs • Travel is required, including overnight trips • Valid driver's license is required • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: Do the best work of your life! • The Environmental Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Geologist for immediate employment in the Charlotte, North Carolina office. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. • This position will be responsible for implementing field sampling and subsurface investigations, geologic logging and interpretation, installing monitoring wells, supervising subcontractors, upholding both client and URS health and safety standards, and assisting with data assessment and report preparations. Field work may be completed alone or as part of a field team. Responsibilities may include preparation of field logs and field activity summaries, groundwater elevation calculations, research of property history, or review of environmental regulations, supervising subcontractors, and assisting with data assessment and report preparations. The responsibilities include upholding both client and URS health and safety standards. Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within URS, clients and regulatory agencies. EOE M/F/D/V
