Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor degree in civil engineering or appropriate discipline required
• Work will require knowledge and familiarity with NCDOT standards and practices as well as an understanding of developing design plans in Microstation and Geopak
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Transportation Designer to perform design development on rail/highway design projects for NCDOT and other clients
• Serve as task manager to manage of segments of roadway and rail design projects
• Perform detailed calculations, layout and design utilizing NCDOT, AASHTO and AREMA standards
• Accompany senior or appropriately experienced engineer, where appropriate, will participate in client meetings, to discuss project requirements, explain work, etc.
• Assign tasks to technical or administrative staff
