Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer in Good Standing
• Minimum 7 years of work experience working as a design engineer on machinery
• Must be capable of drafting mechanical and design drawings using CAD drafting software and Microsoft Office
• Must be capable of using mechanical/machinery measurement and test equipment
• Familiar with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects in their respective field
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns
• Must understand technical content for Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Structural disciplines in order to effectively design or specify solutions for mechanical (machinery) systems of those projects

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Valid driver's license required
• Often requires visits to project sites
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Designs mechanical equipment, facilities and infrastructure/utility systems for commercial, industrial, construction and governmental clients
• Develops, designs, and specifies components for electro-mechanical and hydraulic power and control systems equipment for operating equipment including systems for movable bridges and navigation locks
• May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Often engages in construction cost estimation for discipline-specific construction
• Perform inspection of facilities and produce reports and repair recommendations
• Develops familiarity with regulations governing the implementation and operations of these systems
• Verifies QA/QC of own work and work of project team that individual is responsible for
