Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or other appropriate engineering discipline. • Nine years of experience in the midstream oil and gas, refining, power, or petrochemical industry or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. Master's degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for up to two years of work experience. PhD degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for up to three years of experience. • Must have working knowledge of refining, gas processing, and/or petrochemical process plant operations. • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain • Able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. The Process Engineering Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in Bellingham, Washington. Incumbent Responsibilities: • Responsible for engineering and design activities including working directly with other engineers and design drafters to produce engineering documents and designs for various industry related facilities. • Serves as a technical specialist for the office in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles or processes for an assigned area of responsibility (i.e., subject matter, function, type of facility or industry). • Plans and develops segments of engineering projects with unique or controversial problems that have an important effect on major organization programs, which involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches. • Develop, design and specify components for electrical distribution and utilization systems. • Responsible for preparing specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries for electrical equipment. • Knowledgeable in Hazardous Area Classification of Class 1 locations related to the oil and gas industry. • Experience utilizing standards applicable to industrial facilities including the National Electrical Code. • Perform standard computation and analysis, using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar power system design software. • Prepare construction packages including deliverables such as single line diagrams, equipment layout, cable schedules, electrical schematics, interconnection drawings, area classification drawings. • Collect and evaluate technical data and other information, including regulatory, environmental, economic, operational, and constructability factors, pertaining to power generation/transmission/substation/distribution projects. • Performs electric system calculations, such as, line impedance and reactance, short circuit, load flow, grounding, and lightning protection. • Assist in the coordination between engineering disciplines, participating in project planning activities, and support cost and schedule updates. • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above.
