UXO Technician II AECOM is currently seeking an unexploded ordnance(UXO) an UXO Technician II for a clearance activities and construction support on projects in various locations throughout the United States of America. While at the project site, you will be paid the prevailing wage for an UXO Technician II defined in the National Service Contract Act Wage Determination for the county in which you will be working. You will also receive a 4% and/or 8% (depending upon the proximity to ordinance) Hazardous Pay. In addition, you will receive a per hour rate for taxable Health and Welfare Benefits. Flat rate per diem will be paid, based of of location, ¾ meal per diem on mobilization days. All personnel are required to perform functions which requires experience and training in explosives safety; recognition of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), particularly UXO; and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Candidates should be a graduate of a Military EOD School of the United States and have two years or more prior military EOD and/or commercial UXO experience in response munitions response actions or range clearance activities OR a graduate of a formal UXO training course of instruction (as defined in the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) TP 18 chapter 3 with three years documented experience in response munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation, plus specific project/explosives safety training. In addition to being able to fully perform all of the UXOSP and UXO TECH I functions above, UXO TECH II personnel may: • Properly store explosive materials per applicable guidance. • Determine precise location in field environment using a variety of techniques such as use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using topographical map and compass. • Perform field collection procedures to identify contaminated soil • Prepare an on-site holding area to temporarily stow MEC that has an acceptable risk of movement. • Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO, for which the risk of movement has been determined acceptable, when appropriate. • Perform limited technical supervision of UXOSP. • Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations (e.g., personnel performing environmental monitoring), but have activities to perform within exclusion areas. • Inspect MPPEH for the presence of explosives safety hazards. Training Requirements: • Successful completion of a United States Military EOD School and EOD Senior Level Badge preferred OR a graduate of a formal UXO training course of instruction (as defined in the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) TP 18 chapter 3 with three years documented UXO experience • 40 HR Hazwoper Certification • 8 HR Hazwoper Certification (If applicable) • OSHA Physical Certification What We Offer AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
