Job Summary

This entry-level position serves as a company representative to the community, state and local officials, stakeholders, and businesses. Under supervision and direct guidance, prepares and disseminates publicity and good-will information concerning the organization through various media channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.


  • Delivers/presents information designed to keep public informed of company programs, accomplishments, or point of view.

  • Assists with conducting educational programs for various community organizations and residents.

  • Cultivates and improves community partnerships by attending and participating in public events, meetings, and other programs on behalf of the organization.

  • Under supervision and guidance, manages charitable, fundraising, and/or political contributions and public relations efforts.

  • Distributes various reports for internal and external use, such as: lobbyist reports, campaign reports, and fundraising reports.

  • Supplies fact sheets, newsletters, photographs, scripts, or tape recordings to media representatives and other persons who may be interested in learning about or publicizing company activities or message.

  • May assist in purchasing local advertising space and time as required.

  • Maintains the library of advertising and the print quality photos of company product and accessories. May initiate procedure to get new photographs from advertising agency when needed.

  • Researches data, writes copy, contacts media representatives, or represents the company directly before general public.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory duties.

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

    A. Education and Experience

    Required: Associate?s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Public Affairs or similar area of study, and zero to three years previous experience.

    Preferred: Bachelor?s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Public Affairs or similar area of study, and zero to three years previous experience.


    B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements


    None required.


    C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

    Organizational, educational, and public relations/communications skills required.
