Job Summary

Manages employees and activities related to benefits administration.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.


  • Coordinates the administration of corporate benefit programs such as medical coverages, dental insurance, group life insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.

  • Manages all benefit administration vendors, work processes, procedures and expenses, to ensure performance metrics as well as departmental and organizational goals are met.

  • Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality and timeliness, and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Provides guidelines for advising employees on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits.

  • Maintains technical knowledge and a current awareness of new benefits administration developments and techniques.

  • Acts as custodian of benefits records and documents.

  • Assists in the preparation of employee benefits booklets and other employee benefit communications.

  • Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

  • Responsible for the administration of retirement plans including plan audits.

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.


    A. Education and Experience

    Required: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study, and seven to ten years previous experience.


    Preferred: Retirement plan management and/or administration experience; Master's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study, and seven to ten years previous experience.

    None.


    C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

    None.
