Job Summary Leads the improvement of maintenance and operations performance by developing and implementing standardized processes and/or reinforcing the use of existing standardized processes. Provides advanced process analysis, project management and development support across various areas of the business. Leads in developing processes aligned with corporate strategy and includes business requirements gathering, process development, piloting and implementation. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while demonstrating a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned. Ability to manage project from inception to completion. Works with the department representatives or project sponsor to document the vision and the project's scope. Ability to proactively coach and mentor staff. Applies project management knowledge to own assignments, following a standard development methodology, a project plan, and standard project deliverables. Drives improvement initiatives using LEAN, Six Sigma and/or similar improvement methodologies. Identifies and documents issues and resolutions, providing on-going follow up and support. Communicates and articulates the use and value of system delivery methodologies and creation of life cycle deliverables. Charts existing business and systems processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models. Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes. Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios and task workflow analysis. Writes requirements specifications using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously and concisely. Represents requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios where appropriate. Recommends process improvements based on analysis of inputs, outputs, efficiency, consistency, cycle time, quality, and customer satisfaction. Provides benchmarking best-in-class processes for comparison purposes. Analyzes and compiles information from subject matter expert teams to create, enhance, and develop standard, clear, and concise company-wide processes and methods. Understands the current industry standards such as Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards to benchmark against. Develops, conducts, and participates in the testing phase including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes and other post-implementation support. Developing and delivering customer/end-user training. Communicates process changes, enhancements and modifications to peers, staff and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood. Work with internal IT department to develop software solutions. Interact with outside suppliers to develop software solutions. Supervisory Responsibilities May coach and mentor less-experienced personnel and act as a team leader on systems projects. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or similar area of study. Five years of previous experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business and five or more years experience in process analysis B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements None required. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Advanced knowledge and skills in one or more of the following required: Proficient knowledge of a standard process or project methodology. Knowledge of continuous improvement and business process redesign methodologies. Experience in documenting system requirements, solutions proposals, and business plans. System and/or process implementation experience. Experience leading and working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. LEAN and Six Sigma knowledge and prior application. Highly self motivated and directed. Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail. Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action on it. Superior leadership, listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills. Ability to facilitate small and large sized groups. Ability to develop rapport and maintain strong relationship with sponsors, stakeholders and peers. Expertise in using Microsoft office software (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, etc.).
