Job Summary At Waste Management, a PEF Maintenance Technician is responsible for observing mechanical devices in operation, and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Duties consist of dismantling devices to gain access and removal of defective parts. Examining forms and textures of parts to detect imperfections in addition to inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, and adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities A PEF Maintenance Technician repairs or replaces defective parts, and installs basic functional and structural parts in devices. You are required to lubricate and clean parts, as well as repairing electrical equipment. Your duties will consist of starting devices to test their performance, set up and operate metalworking tools to make and repair complex parts. Coordination of purchase orders for parts and machines is also an essential part of your duties. Additional minor duties may be assigned by your manager or supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities "This job has no supervisory duties." Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience One to Four years previous experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Must be eligible to legally be employed in the US Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
