Job Summary Heavy equipment operators are responsible for the safe operation of various heavy equipment vehicles. Essential Duties and Responsibilties Equipment regularly operated are dozer, excavator, motor grader, loader, scraper, compact roller, backhoe, and skid steer. This person must be capable of seamless transitions from one type of equipment, such as a dozer, to another type, such as an excavator. They must also be capable of operating all ancillary equipment such as skid steers, trailers, light sets, man-lifts, etc. They must be capable of all Operator level maintenance on all equipment and operating common power/hand tools. This person must be able to safely lift 60 pounds to waist level and 50 pounds above chest level without undue strain. Qualifications This person must hold a valid driver's license and a CDL is greatly preferred. Experience in construction or the oil field services industry is preferred. A High School Diploma or GED is greatly preferred. An Operator must have two (2) years of experience on at least two (2) earth moving pieces of equipment but ten (10) years is preferred.
