Summary: The main purpose of this role is to increase, or drive, department (and store) sales through product/item promotion, creativity & merchandising, and exceptional guest service. In this role, there may also be opportunities to represent Whole Foods Market in outer-department or offsite events, participate in new venue launches and other sales driving or promotional events. Duties: - Ordering signage for demos and adhering to regional marketing standards - Reserving (and returning) all necessary demo materials from Marketing - Setting up a clean, attractive display to showcase your demo item - Selecting an ideal location to maximize sales while considering foot traffic/flow, demo item location & equipment restrictions - Understanding basic food & cooking concepts to be able to relay to the guest how the food was prepared, what ingredients were used, best methods for reheating and serving, item pairing and meal building (up-selling) etc - Pulling movement reports before and after an item demo to traffic sales lift. Track movement by day and month if driving item sales over an extended period of time - Understand Regional promotional programs and sales and how demoing, signage & merchandising are crucial to success in these programs - Build upon and develop new sales strategies & promotional ideas for the team and store - Being flexible, versatile and innovative in your role; maximizing your ability to work in any area of the department - Being creative and proactive in solving problems and overcoming potential hurdles - Making your job and demo fun and engaging for you, guests and other team members - Making at least 3 announcements per shift over the PA system - This job posting is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job. Requirements: - Intermediate knife skills for food and garnish prep - Passion for food, product, people and numbers - Outstanding communication (including emails), interpersonal & organizational skills, and guest service - Basic computer skills and understand Microsoft Office applications - Knowing, representing and adhering to Whole Foods Markets core values - Tracking sales and movement, spoilage (sampling), taste and food quality, and overall effectiveness - TABC Certification is beneficial (Texas locations) - Attend product knowledge trainings - Cross train in as many areas of the department as possible - Register training a plus - Desire for advancement within team and company - Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the store Essential Job Functions: • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
