At Waste Management, an Industrial Vacuum Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A Vacuum Truck Driver is responsible for driving and operating industrial vacuum equipment for the Marcellus Shale locations. The routes may require drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in rural locations. You must operate the vehicles in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet. It is a Vacuum Truck Driver's responsibility to maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times. Pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report ), and notating all issues on the DVIR form for corrective review/repair is required. You will work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe accounts.
Responsibility consists of performing all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, and assisting other company drivers as directed. You must notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage immediately. Issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route must be reported to Dispatch or the Route Manager.
Communication of customer requests or issues should be reported to Dispatch or the Route Manager. An Industrial Vacuum Driver completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed. Positioning of containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic. An Industrial Vacuum Driver follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
This is a physically strenuous position that involves loading and off loading of contents.
The positions require lifting (up to 50 - 75 pounds), pushing, pulling, and bending. Note: The level of physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than documented here.

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 years
One to two years previous experience
Commercial Drivers License A (CDL) with Tanker Endorsements valid for the state in which you are applying to work in
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. plus additional or specialized training
One to four years previous experience.

MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 50 LBS
Must be at least 21 years of age or older
Must be eligible to be legally employed in the US
