Job Summary

Install, Develop, document, and support Esri software such as ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE (Oracle, SQL Server) and ArcGIS Desktop




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.


Installs, Administers and Supports Esri ARC GIS Server Software, Related Web Services and Desktop Software and applications

Develops, plans, and implements complex GIS applications software for the system users and operators; Designs and develops complex geodatabases, GIS database models and templates, Help in performance tuning

Utilizes, applies and verifies programs for debugging and editing programs for accessing, maintaining, linking and populating databases

Develops and presents GIS system and cartographic mapping elements; integrates GIS elements with other technology for different business requirements.

Responds to difficult inquires from end-users, developers, contractors, and other customers regarding GIS requirements

Modify and manipulate GIS data - transposes complex data from records maps, CAD drawings, county land base maps, demographic models and economic resources and other source documents into GIS and/or related database

Participates in the development, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy of GIS information is maintained

Assist staff in analyzing, testing, and resolving production problems; assists in writing procedures for utilizing GIS software and applications; and performs other duties as assigned.

    This position has no supervisory duties.




    Qualifications


    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.


    A. Education and Experience

    Required: : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, GIS or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience, in related field.


    3 years of experience of administering and maintaining ArcGIS Servers, Esri ArcGIS Desktop and strong background in utilizing geoprocessing tools, managing web services.

    Troubleshoot & support software and web based services for geo spatial data

    3 years of experience in capturing, processing, analyzing, editing and distributing spatial data from non-spatial sources.

    Experience with managing, upgrading ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE

    Strong understanding geodatabase design and development.

    Strong understanding of Geocoding concepts and experience building address locators etc.

    QA/QC of Spatial data by utilizing concepts of spatial analysis, topology, map projections etc.

    Ability to build models using Esri Model builder to automate standard processes and procedures.

    Experience in loading data from multiple sources into ArcSDE.

    Experience in building network datasets using data sources from commercial spatial data vendors.

    Experience of working on enterprise level GIS systems.

    Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server and writing SQL queries.

    Experience in Windows and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems.


    Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, MIS, or Business Administration and three years of related experience.


    4-5 years of experience administering and maintaining ArcGIS Servers, Esri ArcGIS Desktop

    C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

    Intermediate knowledge or skills in one or more of the following required:


    Strong written and verbal communication skills needed and an ability to work with teams

    Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills
