Tesla is currently seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in APAC (Based in Beijing)
This position's primary responsibility will be to assist with the build out and management of Tesla's expanding retail, service center, and large office network in the Asia-Pacific region, and assist the Tesla network operations team as needed with day-to-day network tasks at Tesla HQ, Tesla factories, and colocation facilities.
The responsibilities of this position are:
-Respond to day-to-day network changes or troubleshooting requests of network hardware at Asia-Pacific locations from either local staff or as directed by central network operations team; research and document root cause analysis on outages or other problems as needed.
-Assist Retail IT team with configuring and turning up network equipment at new stores and service centers
-Coordinate MPLS circuit installation as needed and engage in LAN/WAN turn-up activities with carriers.
-Troubleshoot network performance issues.
-Act as first contact for network circuit outages at all EU locations; determine root cause and contact appropriate telco provider to resolve. Follow-up and escalate with central NOC team as necessary.
-Monitor EU network systems and circuits as part of proactive approach to maintaining high level of service.
-Maintain EU data center equipment as needed, installing and cabling new equipment, or performing maintenance on existing equipment.
May require unscheduled after hours work. 25%-50% travel required as necessary.
2+ years experience in Network Engineering is a must.
Experience with JUNOS, Juniper switches and firewalls, and wireless systems.
Experience with troubleshooting IP protocols using wireshark, tcpdump, snoop, etc.
Experience with IPSEC VPNs, SIP, and firewall policies
Familiar with VOIP protocols and QoS concepts
Experience with centralized WAN device monitoring and management tools
Degree in IS/IT program or relevant IS/IT experience.
One or more of the following certifications is preferred: JNCIA, JNCIP, CCNA, CCNP
