Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic, values-oriented, “get your hands dirty” team-player to work with SunPower’s Systems Operations Division. The SEED Trainer will administer and support continuous improvement of business processes within a dynamic structured framework that includes statistical and developmental elements.

The SEED Trainer works alongside Systems Division leadership to develop and implement process improvements within the SEED organization. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include Six Sigma training, working with teams of interdisciplinary members, familiarity with organization behavior influences in business, and strong interpersonal skills. The SEED Trainer leads staff training, leverages exceptional motivational abilities, monitors program learning metrics, and supports the improvement of existing course curriculum and program improvement. The emphasis is on supporting “bottom-up” improvement channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Trainer

• Leads course trainings in small group environment (including train-the-trainer courses)
• Customizes training experience for teams to emphasize necessary improvements in a timely manner
• Supervises the implementation of an Employee Idea Generation and Implementation program.
• Provides regular summary updates of program metrics for monthly reporting
• Supports strategic and tactical plans for SEED program development and growth
• Assesses curriculum gaps for continuous improvements of instructional program elements
• Supports Program Manager to coordinate with external programs and initiatives
• Supports alignment with overall corporate quality improvement
• Responsible for fulfilling corporate milestones and roadmap of program
• Supports active feedback process and continuous improvement efforts

Instructional Development Support

• Supports the enhancements/improvements/updates to training materials and ensures materials include instructional activities and evaluations appropriate to the learning objectives
• Participates in the Quality methods inclusion effort
• Coordinates topic mapping and tracking with the Technical Training Team

Statistical Analysis

• Modifies Statistical Process Control & 6 Sigma curriculum for service-based process applications
• Analyzes various processes and determines best practices for gathering variable data
• Supports process improvement teams to analyzes data and develop monitoring protocol for process improvements with the Quality group
• Oversees the results of process capability analysis to for improved quality, efficiency and profitability

Skills/Qualifications

• BA degree in communications, education or business-related area
• Working understanding of statistical methods and application in business improvements in Six Sigma
• Minimum five years experience in training and training administration
• Commitment to sustainable business practices
• Excellent organizational skills
• Experience in the planning or execution of cultural change management processes
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative & follow through with assigned tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with online lesson development software a plus (Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, PowerPoint, etc)
