DISTRICT SALES MANAGER Responsible for directing the efforts of assigned shops to increased profitable sales within a district. Committed to ensuring outstanding service by creating an environment that is focused on providing an experience that exceeds customer expectations. Establishes and maintains superior professional standards in the areas of sales, customer service, visual presentation, inventory management, operations, personnel management and development. Ensures that shops demonstrate and uphold the values and vision of the company PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible and accountable for total district, as well as individual shop results to include top line sales, improving customer transactions, average dollar sale, and The Body Shop loyalty program. • Analyzes business results and trends with SMs and takes appropriate action to affect sales and profitability. Consistently holds Shop Management accountable to achieve sales goals and objectives. • Sets the example as a sales leader in the shop. Enforces link-selling techniques through best practices and teaches shop management how to utilize selling “tools.” • Coaches, trains, and develops SMs to identify priorities based on demands of the business. • Defines, demonstrates, and evaluates customer service expectations for the District and Shops. • Responsible for maintaining a full complement of management and sales staff at all times to include ensuring that the right people are in the right job. Plans, anticipates, and adjusts for staffing needs. • Creates a base of promotable employees by recruiting and hiring high caliber talent. Maintains a network of potential candidates for management openings. • Responsible for ensuring newly hired employees have reviewed and understand their position description. • Trains SMs to identify, define, and address specific development opportunities for shop employees. • Ensures that all shop employees receive training and development using • corporate training materials. Includes the development of high potential employees • for promotion and the development of Shop Managers in the A+ Program. • Ensures management practices comply with local, state and federal regulations, • as well as corporate philosophies and policies. • Manages recognition and service programs. Recognizes top performers. • Ensures proper administration of coaching and counseling relative to standards of performance and that a progressive discipline program is utilized in all cases of sub-standard performance. • Ensures the administration of timely and fair performance reviews. • Continuously demonstrates a high degree of professionalism in order to set the example and to achieve results through the team. • Communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintains a positive and motivational style in all communication and actions to promote productivity and commitment. • Maintains and enforces high standards of personal image in compliance with company guidelines and dress code. • Instills pride of ownership in all shop employees. Visual Presentation & Inventory Management: • Ensures effective implementation of all visual direction with urgency and proper • planning, without sacrificing customer service. • Ensures that total presentation and display of merchandise is impact to maximize sales. • Strategically develops shop layout plans that maximize priority areas and ensures proper execution. • Maintains consistent, uncompromising high standards for cleanliness, presentation, marketing, and company property on the selling floor, at the till, and in the backroom. • Ensures that all shops are properly managing controllable inventory issues and needs. • Ensures that markdowns and promotions are executed in a timely and accurate manner. • Ensures that shops present a customer friendly environment- lighting, fragrance, and music. • Ensures that needs and plans for shop repairs are communicated to the appropriate parties. Operations: • Ensures that all shop associates understand and adhere to company policies, programs, and procedures as outlined in all shop manuals. • Effectively controls all shop expenses. • Controls internal and external shrink. Ensures protection of company assets. Communicates security problems and concerns to RSD and Loss Prevention. • Monitors and ensures accuracy of markdowns, transfers, damages, and all other administrative paperwork and procedures affecting inventory accuracy. • Ensures that shops schedule payroll effectively to maximize shop profitability. • Ensures compliance with all company directives and requests. • Will perform other related duties as assigned or requested |
