JOB SUMMARY This position will be responsible for defining and implementing the customer strategy for residential, commercial and utility grade data monitoring of PV systems worldwide. You will work closely with sales, R&D and other product managers to ensure industry leading data monitoring systems and solutions for customers. These customers range from residential home owners, big box retailers and large power plant owners. You will represent the voice of the customer for market needs both current and future, in order to define new products. You will be knowledgeable of industry trends in monitoring, networking, customer interfaces, and data analytics. You will own the data monitoring product line from conception through development, deployment and end of life. RESPONSIBILITIES •Conceive and developing new data monitoring product lines and product line extensions by reducing product cost, implement product enhancements, monitor and improve product quality and yield, and rationalize supply/demand planning. •Conduct market research, customer interviews to determine trends, develop market requirements documents, and create business cases for new products. •Coordinate with engineering teams on technology roadmap and internal, dealer and customer-facing monitoring interfaces using the input collected in the market requirements document. •Manage entire product line life cycle from inception and strategic planning through product introduction and growth. •Assist engineering teams in developing make / buy recommendations and vendor analyses for both hardware and software components •Develop and implement go-to-market plan with cross-functional team including business units •Drive product/design issues to positive resolution •Lead preparation of product-specific sales training and sales support collateral •Reconcile sales forecasting and operations build planning with market share goals •Travel domestically and internationally to customer, vendor and internal company sites • Position will be based in San Jose or Richmond, CA. RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Required •BS/MS in technical field (electrical engineering, computer science or equiv) •Minimum 5 years product management experience with direct customer software interface products (residential and commercial) •Minimum 5 years experienced in strategic planning and product roadmaps in multiyear environment Preferred •Experience with SCADA systems used in large scale operations for remote command and control of facilities. •Experience designing, launching and implementing programs in major industrialized European markets (Germany, France, Spain, Italy) •Experience designing, launching and implementing programs in US market •Experience in large scale networked systems. •Experience in energy fields such as PV, Wind or conventional fossil fuel technologies •Multi language capabilities in major European Languages •MBA |
