Minimum Requirements: Bachelors level degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 15 years experience working on a variety of airside and landside aviation projects. Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland or able to obtain MD PE within 3 months of hire.
The ideal candidate should possess the following: *Excellent communication, efficient, interpersonal and organization skills; *Will understand and implement compliance with URS' Policies & Procedures; *Ability to manage and/or direct other managers in the use of project schedules; *Prior experience with financial metrics, staffing decisions, and strategic planning; *Ability to obtain URS Project Manager (PM) Certification within 6 months of hire.
Familiar with Microsoft Office 2010 software and the ability to track financial performance of specific projects, assist in the monitoring of staff sold time and work backlog and preparation of project communications and financial documents.
This position will provide direction to the team leaders to ensure the financial reporting, administrative requirements and ensure project controls are attained. Will resolve client and team level conflicts, and provide daily project management of large and varied task order contracts.
This position will also be responsible for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of specific aviation clients to include daily successful operations of all aspects of the group, such as customer interface, development of operating and growth plans and necessary staffing. Job Description: This Senior Aviation Manager position works within a 50 person aviation practice capable of providing all professional services necessary for landside, terminal and airside design. This position is responsible for a wide range of work, maintaining and strengthening existing client relationships, and providing mentorship to younger technical staff.
Responsibilities include but, are not limited to: *Participating in business development activities including planning, scheduling, client relations, marketing, proposal preparation and presentations; *Maintaining professional relationships and contacts with clients, peers and competitors; *Presenting and explaining proposals, reports and findings to clients; *Consulting or negotiating with clients to prepare project specifications.
Responsibilities day-to-day include the management of a legacy aviation client which includes the following: *Primary client point of contact; *Maintaining and strengthening the existing client relationship; *Developing and submitting proposals as requested; *Providing direction to Project Managers and Technical staff; *Providing client and team level coordination; *Managing multiple priorities; both internal and client driven.
May be required to make professional presenations to client or agency representatives from time to time. Will also interact with multi discipline and multi office teams within URS. Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists. EOE M/F/D/V
