Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • Registered Professional Civil Engineer (California or other state) • 2 years of professional design experience • AutoCAD or Microstation software • Background in general civil design (i.e. grading, drainage, roadway, utility design) Job Description: Do the best work of your life! The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, and self-motivated Staff Civil Engineer 2 for immediate employment in the Santa Maria, California office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in general civil design including grading, drainage, roadway, and utility design specific to municipal infrastructure improvement projects as well as private development projects. The successful candidate may also support environmental assessment and remediation projects for private clients. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. • State and local transportation and infrastructure improvement projects • Solar and alternative energy projects • Oil and gas related projects • Environmental assessment and remediation projects • Program management and logistics projects Incumbent Responsibilities: • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications • Prepare engineering reports and technical writings • Communicate effectively with team members and client representatives • Manage small projects and large project subtasks • Work independently with minor direction • This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS Corporation.
