Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, wetlands management, geology or any earth science related field).
Or demonstrated ability and / or experience.
Minimum 2 years air quality related experience in data collection, review and management, and preparation of scientific/regulatory documents.


Job Description:

Conduct research and perform investigations such as air quality impact assessments using emission factors, calculations, spreadsheets, and air quality modeling software for the purpose of identifying sources of pollutants affecting the environment. Preparation of analysis findings in technical reports and permitting documents. Utilize knowledge of emission factors, analysis methods, and modeling software to perform air quality analyses and synthesis for environmental permits (Application for Certification (AFC), Authority to Construct (ATC), and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permits) and Environmental Impact Reports/Environmental Impact Statements. Specifically utilizing the following models: SANGEA Energy and Emissions Estimating System, Environment Protection Agency TANKS4.09, California Line Source Model (CALINE4), Urban Emission Model (URBEMIS), California Air Resource's Board Emission Factor Model (EMFAC2007), Caltran Emission Factor Model (CT-EMFAC), Sacramento Roadway Construction Model, California Air Resources Board OFFROAD2007 model. Conduct air quality analyses and synthesis for Environmental Impact Review and Statements pursuant to requirements under California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act. Conduct analyses using knowledge of federal, state and local regulations governing air quality.
