Environmental Scientist Job Details

Minimum MS in biology, ecology or fisheries related field with 5 years experience. Must have experience with Clean Water Act 316b. Successful candidate should be able to work independently or with a team. Strong skills in communication, statistics, technical writing, and boat operation are preferred.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of ecologists that conducts a wide range of aquatic and terrestrial ecological investigations that may include:
*Benethic Lab duties
*Wetlands delineation
*Environmental reconnaissance
*Support of ecological risk assessment
* Habitat suitability assessments for freshwater and marine fisheries
* Freshwater and marine benthic macroinvertebrate and ichthyoplankton studies
* Aquatic habitat restoration and enhancements (shoreline beach replenishment, tidal and freshwater wetlands, stream channel)
* Natural resource damage assessments

Responsibilities also include providing technical support and leadership in report preparation, ecological modeling, and field investigation. Candidate must be willing to travel.
