Senior Underwater Archaeologist / Marine Remote Sensing Specialist Job Details

MA or MS degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or closely related field required.

Minimum of 12 years of underwater/marine remote sensing experience required.

RPA Required. Successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in the successful execution of underwater archaeology and marine remote sensing projects. Must have supervisory experience on all phases of archaeological projects, as well as skills in personnel and project management. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, data organization, attention to detail, and logistics coordination skills. Writing sample may be required. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Must be able to write reports in PC environment (Word). Must be able to work with underwater / marine remote sensing applications. Must be able to work well with a variety of staff at different levels. Must be able to mentor and guide staff in underwater/nautical projects. Excellent communication skills required. Must be a strong writer of technical reports and have good interpersonal skills with staff and clients.

Responsibilities include: Perform underwater archaeology tasks including diving, remote sensing, data analysis, and report preparation. Client coordination may be required.

The individual will be working predominantly with the underwater team, but will report to the Archaeology Team Leader. Will support the underwater archaeology projects. Will work closely with senior staff, but could work independently in field situations.
