The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in GIS, or a closely related field, with minimum 4 years GIS experience.

Must have the ability to solve problems creatively and have strong organizational, verbal and written skills.

Proven ability to work independently to complete tasks.

Job Description:

The GIS Analyst will provide planning services and technical expertise to support and maintain Fort Dix Geographic Information System (GIS).

The position will involve the following tasks:

- Implement Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) at Fort Dix in accordance with Department of Army regulation.

- Coordinate projects to ensure the field data is collected in a format to be easily entered into the GIS, provide recommendations to implement improvements, and assist with implementation of projects covering a wide range of biological resource disciplines.

- Provide system support for Fort Dix GIS system, including updating software, performing backups, and performing regular data updates.

- Develop geographic data to produce data layers for staff scientists and field investigations.

- Providing mapping support to staff for reports, briefings, and field projects.

- Provide analysis of remotely sensed information that has been entered into GIS, and prepare scripts or queries to analyze or gather data as necessary.

- Provide planning related services as needed in support of environmental education programs.
