Job Description:  AECOM is seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer to work in our Denver, Colorado location. This position is contingent upon award of work with the expected hiring time frame to be in January 2017.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates the discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines.
  • Maintains records, files and other documents pertaining to the discipline.
  • Complies with company's safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies.
  • Assists the Project Engineering Manager in identifying the engineering documents that must comply with regulatory/licensing requirements.
  • Assumes "in charge" responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required.
  • May manage groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists with minimal guidance or supervision.
  • Works toward achieving compatibility of customer's and company's objectives.
  • Assigns preparers and checkers for discipline specifications and coordinates review of external specifications.
  • Establishes schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval.
  • Maintains technical coordination with the Principal Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices.
  • Coordinates engineering activities for a discipline with those of other disciplines on the project.
  • Directs the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline.
  • Schedules, directs and documents discipline engineering meetings between project management, client, vendors and other engineering groups.
  • Complies with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested.
  • Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training.
  • Advises the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.
  • Works closely with Chief Discipline Engineers, Principal Engineers and Project Engineering Managers on employees' evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group.
  • Fully versed in the work sequence, general content, and methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within engineer's discipline.

Minimum Requirements Mechanical Supervising Discipline Engineer II

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Professional Engineering License required.
  • Technical project experience with Alaska north-slope design
  • Oil & Gas Industry Experience

Mechanical Supervising Discipline Engineer III

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience.
  • Professional Engineering License required.
  • Technical project experience with Alaska north-slope design
  • Oil & Gas Industry Experience
Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications
  • Alaska registered PE
  • Competent in pipe stress analysis
  • Packaged equipment design
