Job Description:  The Regional Learning and Development Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management and continuing operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) for Northern CA and Reno region to ensure seamless execution to serve the learning needs of Whole Foods Market Team Members. This includes serving as a key partner to the Global Learning & Development Team in order to serve all needs of the organization in relation to the LMS setup, maintenance and continuous operation. This individual is responsible for supporting the definition, development, maintenance and enforcement of documented training processes, procedures and practices related to the use and administration of the LMS to ensure consistent and well-integrated operation, data quality, and customer service.

This position reports to the Regional Learning & Development Director. Work is both independent and with direction from Regional HR Leadership as well as the Global Learning Management System Administrator and Global Training Content Developers. This position is 75% LMS Administrator and 25% L&D Lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides support for setup, ongoing operation, maintenance, usage, and analysis of the LMS.
    • Maintains and administrates Instructor Led Training (ILT) for region.
    • Adds materials, creates tests, curriculum, etc. for regional/metro trainers and business partners to LMS.
    • Tracks and reports metrics on a recurrent basis.
  • Tracks and escalates issues to Global LMS Administrator and informs regional users of resolution.
  • LMS point of contact for regional business partners and viewed as regional LMS expert.
  • Maintains LMS governance, criteria, and development standards and oversees regional content in partnership with Global LMS Administrator.
  • Creates and runs scheduled and ad-hoc reports, such as monthly course completion, training evaluation metrics and mandatory training compliance.
  • Ensures that all appropriate reports are processed and distributed to/shared with applicable recipients.
  • Researches and resolves issues related to the LMS in compliance with defined procedures and standards (governance).
  • Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs related to training delivery and documentation requirements. Advisor on possible solutions based on LMS functions.
  • Responsible for completing Cornerstone LMS curriculum (approximately 40 hours).
  • Keeps up-to-date with Cornerstone release notes to support and collaborate with the Global LMS Administrator.
  • Ensures training is delivered effectively and efficiently for the region in the LMS.
  • Supports regional Learning &Development team as needed outside of LMS duties.
    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience with learning and/or performance systems administration, including relational databases OR at least 5 years of experience with learning and/or performance systems administration, including relational databases.
  • At least 2 years of experience with HRIS technology.
  • Comfortable with online technology and tools.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and Training operations (ILT, VILT, etc.).
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel for the creation of reports and/or analytics.
  • At least 2 years of experience using desktop tools to produce executive documents and presentations, such as PowerPoint.
  • Experience in database management and/or maintenance.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing solutions to resolve problems.
  • Strong project management abilities, able to work independently, and a strong team player.
  • Solid Interpersonal & communications skills.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a global virtual team through different time zones.
  • Strong problem solving & planning skills.
  • Experience with using cloud-based applications.
  • Experience with training industry standards (SCORM/AICC, TinCan/xAPI, Level 1-4 evaluations, etc.).
  • CPLP Preferred
  • Facilitation and Presentation Skills ILT and Virtual
  • eLearning and Instructional Design skills a plus
 
Essential Job Functions:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and  
  below shoulders and squat.
- Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
