Job Description:  Help provide and sustain clean water resources around the world. Our Los Angeles, California office of CH2M is seeking a Construction Management Engineering Intern entering their junior or senior year.

Successful applicants will support a large public infrastructure Capital Improvement Program. Basic skill sets include MS Office products, familiarity or exposure to MS Project desired. Exposure to Oracle P6 scheduling tool is a plus. College education courses in construction management are required. Some construction background is a plus. Responsibilities will focus around construction and contract document controls using a web-based document management system for documents such as Change Orders, RFIs, submittals, test reports, monthly schedule updates, pay estimate applications, etc. This position is a minimum 24 to 40 hour per week paid position. This position is expected to be filled within a couple of weeks. Primary project location is near the LAX airport, but this position will require attending meetings, workshops, and testing activities at other sites throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

You must work well in a team environment to collaborate closely within a programmatic team consisting of operations staff, maintenance personnel, engineers, contractors, commissioning specialists, cost estimators, and schedulers. Successful applicant will be responsible for the following activities: 1)serve as the program document controls administrator using a web-based document control system, 2) prepare agendas, schedule meetings, and take meeting minutes, 3) monitor and track the progress of RFIs and submittals, 4) assist in program and project schedule updates, 5) coordinate other capital Improvement project schedules to identify potential conflicts with assigned program projects, 6) with other program staff, attend and witness contractor testing activities, 7) develop draft monthly program data reports for review by the program and project managers, 8) assist in development of Powerpoint presentations, and 9) order supplies in accordance with contract orders . Strong written communication skills are required.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

Must be college student studying under a Construction Management program with a Junior or Senior standing.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
