Job Description:  AECOM has an immediate opening (Temporary Position) for a Mid-Level Systems Administrator to join our team in Arlington, Virginia!

This System Administrator will serve as a lead specialist on Windows/UNIX issues and provide team coordination.

Responsibilities:

Provide direction and high level technical assistance to other systems managers.
Administer and configure network hardware and software resources, such as servers, DNS, databases, etc. and provide protocol and connectivity support to developers of web-enabled applications.
Develop, monitor, and maintain utilities and procedures to perform periodic maintenance, backups, shutdowns, recoveries, and diagnostics. Evaluate, recommend, and install software and hardware to facilitate and monitor network throughput and control load balancing.
Plan and participate in software and hardware migrations and lead field migration teams.
Develop procedures for automating installation of network software via the network.
Monitor appropriate security levels of network components.
Establish, test and maintain UNIX/Windows disaster recovery plans.
Establish, test and maintain certification/test UNIX/Windows environment.
Create, edit and maintain system documentation.
Follow established DS CTO configuration management policy and procedures in the administration of the ETA UNIX systems.
Respond to DC CTO IT security requests in regards to audits performed by or for the Department.
Review UNIX/Windows system logs for audit purposes and report suspicious activity to Federal management.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or course work in computer science or related field and at least or 6 years of relevant experience.

Additional experience required:

Four (4)+ years extensive experience supporting large Windows environments, including creating, modifying and deleting Active Directory user accounts.
Four (4)+ years of experience supporting and diagnosing TCP/IP protocols and supporting remote access software and services.
Four (4)+ years supporting wide area networks.
Four (4)+ years analyzing, designing, installing, and working with all aspects of the internet.
Four (4)+ years or more of Windows 2003/2008 experience.
Four (4)+ years of experience with SAN or NAS technology.
Four (4)+ years of experience working with Microsoft Systems Management Server.
Four (4)+ years of experience with Shell Scripting (sh, bash, csh, python, perl).
Experience with performing system administration tasks, such as backups and server updates;
Experience with administration of system monitoring tools and utilities;
Experience with creating a master hard drive image and subsequently cloning that to multiple hard drives, then modifying the resultant images so that each workstation has a unique hostname and address;
Experience with Deskside support, including deploying and connecting thin clients and validating functionality;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
ITIL Certification and proven experience in working within an ITIL environment

Current active Top Secret clearance REQUIRED.

Preferred Qualifications Four (4)+ years of experience with SAN or NAS technology.
Four (4)+ years of experience working with Microsoft Systems Management Server.
Four (4)+ years of experience with Shell Scripting (sh, bash, csh, python, perl).
