Minimum Requirements: The Principal Transportation Systems Integrator shall hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, or another technical discipline applicable to the operation, procurement, design and/or integration of systems used for the control, communication, security and revenue functions of transit, railroad, highway, and traffic facilities. The position of Principal Transportation Systems Integrator requires at least 10 years of experience in the planning, design, specification, procurement and integration of signaling, control, communications and security systems and operation centers for transit and rail service providers. The candidate shall have a good understanding and working knowledge of AREMA, FRA, FTA, FHWA and Caltrans design guidelines such as the HDM, MUTCD, Caltrans Standard Plans and Standard Specifications, as well as knowledge of other State DOT standards, including those applicable to ITS. Strong Microstation/AutoCAD and InRoads capabilities, as well as a strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools, particularly spreadsheet skills, are required. The candidate shall demonstrate aptitude for and experience with modeling and simulation for tranist and rail operations, and in communicating the results of these studies to support clients' decisions. The candidate shall have strong skills and experience in business development, both individually and in large, multi-disciplinary teams, including Design-Build pursuits. The candidate shall have excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Job Description: The responsibilities of the Principal Transportation Systems Integrator will include preparation of system performance criteria, procurement specifications, integration plans, delivery schedules, systems verification plans, design-build proposals, technical memoranda, and claim reviews. Planning and preliminary engineering assignments will include assisting with development and preparation of various transportation planning studies such as Caltrans Project Study Reports, Project Reports and conceptual engineering studies. Excellent written communication skills will be necessary to author quality proposals, reports and correspondence. This position will require supervisorial oversight and/or coordination with CADD designers and engineering staff. The Principal Transportation Systems Integrator will also be responsible for implementing quality control reviews and procedures of elements of work under their supervision. EOE M/F/D/V |
