We are looking for a dynamic, aggressive professional that desires a leadership position managing and growing an established successful civil/environmental engineering office in San Francisco, Califirnia. This is a rare opportunity with senior experienced staff and a large local presence. You will be responsible for the leadership and development of a team of engineering and environmental professionals. This business unit provides full service engineering to the municipal water, water resources and wastewater market. Projects will include Water, Wastewater, Water Resources and include a mixture of plant and utility pump stations, pipelines, force mains, lift stations (sewage), reservoirs, water station tanks, plant and utility work and design master planning. Water and wastewater treatment planning and design are a key project focus. RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage operations, with a focus on financial, profit/loss, strategic planning, organizational growth and development. · Manage all staffing functions including hiring and work load allocation. · Coordinate with other offices and business lines on pursuits and load shifting on projects. · Managing the in-house engineering teams of project and staff engineers as well as CAD designers on multiple medium to large scale projects. · Ensuring quality execution of projects and monitoring QA/QC measures. · Development of marketing strategies including increasing client base diversification managing proposal development and presentation. · Management of client relations and ability to understand current and future clients needs, with a focus on large municipal clients. · Responsible to the regional district manager with accountability for driving P&L with the responsibility for increasing profitability. · Monitoring of collections, invoicing and handling of all revenue, billing and/or administration of projects, office, backlog projects, workload forecasting, etc. · Will help determine and execute the strategic direction of the office in conjunction with the District Manager. · Staff development, such as mentoring and training of existing staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Reputation as a high performer, having worked in collaboration with senior level management teams to achieve substantial growth with profitability. · Prior leadership experience of a civil engineering or engineering management company. · Significant experience in the areas of water resources, water/wastewater treatment, plant design, utilities, etc. · BSCE / MS preferred with a California Professional Engineers license. · Leadership and business development experience, proven ability cultivating and growing business, solid operational skills and experience. · Passionate about client relations. · Must have dynamic client relationship skills as well as strong presentation and proposal expertise. · Position is ideal for a strategic thinker and tactical doer.
