Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
15 years of directly related work experience in business development and program management related to environmental management, planning, permitting, design and construction for water and wastewater facilities. Experience with a diverse client base including state and local government and private sectors. Demonstrated success in building strong client relationships and developing strategic business plans that result in growing regional market practices. Demonstrated ability to build strong internal business development teams through regional collaboration, networking and recruiting.
This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee. Job Description: The Water/Wastewater Business Line Leader is a key member of the West Group Business Development and Senior Leadership Team. This is a Vice President level position responsible for sustainment and development of the Water/Wastewater business across the West Group, as well as supporting the expansion of the services within URS Infrastructure & Environment (IE) Division. The Water Wastewater Business Line Leader will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals through keen understanding of the market place and ability to lead and win key pursuits. The Water/Wastewater Business Line Leader will be responsible for overseeing market research and business trends, developing and enhancing customer relationships, and developing and implementing growth strategies to expand our short-term and long-term business model. The Water/Wastewater Leader also serves a Client Service Leader for Key Water/Wastewater clients and a Program Manager and/or Principal on major projects. Other duties will include management and preparation of significant pursuit proposals, contracting and teaming negotiation, recruiting, staff development and acquisition of key contractors that support Federal business model.
Leads a team of Region Business Line Leaders, and Client Account Managers (CAM) that develops and executes strategic plans to grow URS’s business in the Water/ Wastewater market.
Responsibilities: • Support implementation of National Business Line Director, Group Manager’s and Regional Manager’s strategic plans. • Coordinate with Office Managers and Region Business Line Leaders to identify and maintain successful client/pursuit teams. • Report to Group Business Development Manager, Group Operations Manager and Regional Operation Managers on the quality of performance of Regional Business Line Leaders and their team members, so they can be encouraged to achieve a high level of performance. • Assist in development and achievement of business line sales and revenue goals. • Facilitate implementation of business line strategic plans, particularly with more complex initiatives like strategic hiring, establishment of new practices, acquisitions, etc. • Assist in identifying key clients and pursuits for each Region • Assist in identifying Client Service Leaders (CSLs) for each key client. • Assist in winning key pursuits. • Facilitate development of CSL Plans and Pursuit Capture Plans as needed. • Assist with formal and informal training of CSLs. • Coordinate monthly conference calls and ongoing communications with Market Segment Leaders. • Attend Market Segment conference calls and Business Line conference calls as appropriate.
