North America Design Build Organization Operations Manager At AECOM our future starts with you. AECOM is seeking a talented executive to serve as Operations Manager for our North America Water Design-Build business. The attractive elements of this role include the opportunity to help grow our Water Design-Build market segment, work within the North America Water team as well as a 20,000 person geographic team, and to position oneself for future advancement in the organization by way of performance. The qualified candidate will have operational experience in managing and supervising design build at risk business model for engineering and/or construction of heavy civil, water, water resources projects in NA, including all Canadian regions with management oversight and responsibility for P&Ls. Key Responsibilities include: Operations and performance of a $100MM+ at risk business operating in the water market across NA. Establishing and maintaining financial metrics including outlooks, project development, project delivery, bidding and oversight management of all PM’s and delivery teams. Building bench strength and structure to allow for significant growth over the next 10 years In collaboration with Global SVP, NA Director and others drive the go/no go decisions making process. Meet with N.A. Director and Project Manager(s) to review DB project(s) financials including cost to date, procurement, change orders, EAC, predicted final profit and contingency, and margin distribution Ensure adequacy and adherence to all safety programs on and off site our sites Monitor cash flow on DB projects; meet monthly with PMs on billings and ARs; report monthly to Regional Finance Director(s) on cash management In cooperation with the NA Director establish financial plans and proforma’s and investment plans Provide monthly forecasts (operating statements) for N.A. Design Build, U.S. Design Build (Northeast) and Regional Design Build. Monitor/manage N.A. Design Build overhead cost including G&A, B&P and S&M costs within budget Acts as representative on all N.A. Design Build Group’s Joint Ventures Oversee DB’s Procurement Manager including monitoring use of standard subcontracts, purchase orders, and ensures adherence to existing teaming agreements, prime agreements and subcontract agreements Assist DB’s Risk Manager on obtaining quotes for project insurance costs and bond costs and maintaining insurance and bond premiums on ongoing projects Work closely with the NA DB attorney on monitoring, maintaining and establishing construction contracts and agreements in various States and Regions where the DB organization conducts business. Project management oversight i.e. financial administration, schedule, forecasting and invoicing. Desired Qualifications include: Twenty (20) plus years of water engineering consulting and construction management business with significant experience in design-build/alternative delivery projects, programs and contracts B.S. Civil/Environmental Engineering or related discipline. PE preferred. Operational leadership experience including a successful performance track record managing staff and P&L of $100M plus; strong financial administration skills. Strong understanding of risk-management issues and ability to assess, analyze and make recommendations on risk issues. Excellent communications, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel approximately 40%
