Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field, or equivalent experience.

15 years of job-related experience in the fields of signal engineering, transportation and/or construction.

Able to manage small teams.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2000 and one or more web-based program management systems).

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy.


Job Description:

This position will develop and manage the plan for the Harold, Point, "F", "R" and Loop Interlocking cut-overs, working with the East Side Access (ESA) Construction Management Team and associated railroad partners.

Manage and act as point-of-contact for the development of all signal system field cut-over planning for LIRR and Amtrak.

Work with designated LIRR and Amtrak personnel to assign resources for design submittal review, installation, testing, cut-over and post-cut-over activities. This will include personnel from all internal departments either directly or indirectly supporting the work of the ESA project.

Monitor all railroad work, including cost and labor hours expended in the course of the cut-over planning activities.

Assist in the creation of the coordinated schedule for all field related work.

Review scheduled activities for constructability.

Review schedules and assess feasibility of completing work within durations as contained in the IPS.

Conduct weekly meetings.

Identify and coordinate all interface issues with respect to the railroads, ESA design teams and outside agencies.

Maintain all correspondence and logs, including notes, sketches, e-mails and similar documentation, pertaining to the cut-over planning work. Distribute all work generated by cut-over planning.

Prepare all reports required by the project.

Participate in all field activities, inspections, walk-throughs, equipment installation, railroad pre-test activities, etc.
