Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. civil or environmental engineering)
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years of experience in a team management position.
• Professional Engineer registration in local states (Virginia and Maryland)
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Expected to grow an existing Stormwater and Water Resources Practice
• Strong track record of winning stormwater and Water Resources projects
• Existing position managing and selling Northern Virginia Municipal Projects
• Experience managing and selling to Federal clients through Id/IQs

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of federal environmental laws and regulations (e.g. Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act) and experience working in the following technical areas:
o National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase I and Phase II compliance;
o Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) development for Federal Clients;
o Water supply ;
o Total maximum daily load (TMDLs) and water quality ;
o Stormwater Program Development and Design;
o Hydrology and hydraulics for dam design, dam breach Inundation studies;
o Dredging projects;
o Advanced hydraulic modeling such including CFD and 2-D floodplain models; and
o Green infrastructure/ sustainability design

• Familiarity with federal and state requirements for stormwater management including watershed studies and best management practice (BMP) and low impact development (LID) design
• Strong leadership and relationship building skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required, including superb writing skills, and the ability to lead workshops and give presentations to high-level audiences.
• Solid business development skills, including the ability to track potential work and develop winning project proposals.
Must be proficient in use of standard software packages including MSOffice Products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil or Environmental Engineer for immediate employment in the Herndon, Virginia office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Water Resources and Stormwater Compliance. The incumbent can look forward to a diverse range of projects in the water resource and water compliance fields such as dam breach inundation studies, BMP/LID design, watershed management plans, water quality modeling, dredge design, municipal stormwater design, NPDES permit compliance.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Participate on URS project teams. Exceed client expectations and respond in a timely and flexible manner to changing client needs. Develop a clear understanding of project commitments, deliverables, and timing. Prepare clear and accurate deliverables for clients.
• Interface with clients, contractors, partners, URS managers, and URS Water Resource Centers of Excellence.
• Leverage URS Water Resources practice experience in Virginia and coordinate with individual practitioners in the DC metro area and in key offices in the U.S. to further grow the Water Resource practice.
• Cultivate new relationships and foster existing relationships with clients to win additional work for the company.
Identify and capitalize on opportunities for URS to service this market through the use of aggressive planning and marketing strategies. Coordinate with multiple business partners, other URS managers, etc. to develop new project work and client relationships.
Identify and prioritize business opportunities and develop a capture plan for the high priority opportunities.
Identify new leads, develop project proposals, win new projects, maintain client satisfaction, and win follow-on work after the completion of successful projects.
