Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, with concentration in Transportation Engineering and five years of progressively responsible experience in all aspects of traffic engineering/design, ITS and/or travel demand forecasting. Maryland PE (or ability to obtain via reciprocity immediately) required. PTOE highly desirable.

Experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/Sim Traffic and MUTCD, as well as experience in preparation of PS&E for signs/pavement marking, signals and MOT required. Experience with critical lane analysis, VISSIM, and CUBE desirable.

Familiarity with MS Office. The ability to work as part of a team, sometimes in a leadership position with junior engineers and technicians, and sometimes in a task support position.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to handle multiple project commitments on short timeframes and the ability to interface with clients.

Immediate responsibility for profitability of small projects is likely with the responsibility for larger projects to occur over time.

Job Description:

This position will be part of the Traffic Department and will work under the direct supervision of the Traffic Engineering Department Head and work in support of other members of the group.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include collection of field data such as turning movement counts during the AM peak hour at a site several hours from the office to performance of capacity analyses to preparation of written reports to preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for traffic engineering tasks.

This position will interact internally with Highway, Bridge Structures, Airports and Environmental/Transportation Planning Divisions.
